Must.stay.away.....

I really need to stay away from boulder. We had a playdate this afternoon with one of lucas' friends from school. So I decided to kill time in the morning by going to nordstrom rack and lululemon. After 2 hours and 245 dollars later, I was done. Needless to say, I never made it to lululemon. I would've spent way too much today!!

On a different note, Lucas had fun playing with his friend today. Luckily he had a little sister Avery's age. So they all played together very well :)

Let's try this blogging thing again...

So I know I'm seriously slacking in this blogging thing... so let's try again...

I'm not gonna bother trying to recap the past few months so we'll just start from today! :)

We did our annual family pictures today with my FAVORITE photographer Ozzie and her new assistant Annabelle :) We headed to Chataqua Park in Boulder this morning and spent an hour and half snapping away pictures of my little family!! We had a great time and hopefully Ozzie got some great pictures. If you've never been there, here's a link for more info http://www.chautauqua.com/
After we took pictures, we went for lunch at Garbanzo's at the 29th street mall. It was awesome mediterranean fast food. If you're ever in the neighborhood, check it out. Here's the website

I'm gonna try to keep up with my posts... hopefully I'll be better about it this year!!

Playing catch up

So we've just been super busy! The kids are signed up for every extra curricular activity on the planet and I just feel like the cabbie! The kids are in school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Avery does ballet on Monday mornings and Tap on Friday mornings. And both kids are signed up for swim lessons Monday and Wednesday afternoons. Lucas just finished a session of basketball and definitely made no improvement! So I guess we'll be laying off the sports for 6 months or so!

In the meantime, Avery turned 3. And her birthday party was a success... but that's for a future posting.

For those who don't know, Avery is a thumb sucker. We decided 3 was a good age to stop that horrible habit. The dentist recommended Mavala Stop, which looks like nail polish but it's a deterrent for thumb sucking and nail biting. It works miracles! Unfortunately, no thumb sucking turns my beautiful little girl into the crankiest human on the planet AND it took her afternoon nap away! We're still working the kinks out on this no thumb sucking thing but I guess you learn as you go....

Lucas is doing well in school... learning his sight words and his numbers. He really enjoys school and his teachers.

As for us, we just signed a contract on a NEW home. New, as in, there's no house at all... it's just a dirt lot. We get to pick the color of the house and everything in it! It's very exciting, the kids are excited. We'll be in a better neighborhood, where there are young families with kids and further from the highway. More information and pictures of this will have to wait for a future posting as well!

Gosh... this is all for now... I really need to work harder on this blog...

Dance

I forgot my camera to film Avery's dance class, so I had to use my phone. Sorry for the bad quality and lack of music but here it is!

Panerathon 2010

In August, I participated in my first 5k at the Holy Cow Stampede in Westminster. I walked half and ran half. This time I was determined to run the whole thing. On Sunday, I participated in the Panerathon, which raises money for the food bank of the Rockies. I actually did pretty well, for me that is! LOL I ran the whole thing and finished at a time of 35:10!! YAY! GO ME!!

Eric and the kids were there to cheer me on at the finish line.

Here I am with Christie, who walked with her two daughters.

And this is Amber, who ran the whole thing pushing her 2 kids in a stroller and did it all in about 30 minutes!!

Here was our team: Team COW POO. (City of Westminster Parents of Offsprings)
Great Job guys!!

Swim lessons

The kids also started swim lessons at Paul Derda. They're finally old enough to take classes by themselves, so we don't have to get in with them. They did AMAZING!

Here are a few pictures of Avery with her swim teacher, Miss Abby.

One of the other moms asked if Avery was always so smiley. She grins from ear to ear through out the whole class.

Here's Lucas. His teacher is Miss Holly. He really enjoys this class and is making some progress in the pool! I'm very excited to see how much he will learn from these classes.

Gymnastics

The kids are very busy this year. I signed them up for just about every extra-curricular activity possible!! This year we're trying gymnastics. Both kids were registered for Kidnastics at the Paul Derda Rec Center in Broomfield. They were able to be in the same class and then they were split up by age. Lucas attended two classes and then decided he didn't like it anymore. Avery LOVES gymnastics and she's pretty good at it too.

These pictures aren't all that great since they were taken through a window and without flash, but here's an idea of what's going on in class.

She's the youngest one in class but she can definitely keep up!
