Our First Hike

For those of you who don't know, I'm an assistant organizer for a Mom's Playgroup that i joined here. We get together often and have potlucks, playdates, days at the zoo or park, anything to get the kids together and play while Moms can socialize! Today we had a kiddie hike at Barr Lake in Brighton. We had such a great time! We took a short trail that was the perfect length for the toddlers to walk and it was very stroller friendly too for those of us with little ones!

Lucas and I stopped to cheeze it up for the camera..

Backrow: Sara, Lucas, Me, Missy, Dawnyal, Alex (in backpack), Nicola
Frontrow: Matix, Avery (crying in the stroller), Katherine and Colin

Family shot

This was a cute little forest-y area!

the mighty excavator!

They're doing construction at the school by our house and they had this excavator in the parking lot! If you didn't already know, Lucas is obsessed with construction vehicles and was dying to get out of the car and check it out!

Lucas The Builder

These are some of my tools

I'm using my wrench to fix the cabinets..

Then I need to measure ...

And use my screwdriver to put a screw in the cabinet...

And then i use my hammer to make sure it doesn't come out!

an afternoon in the fountains

We've been spending a lot of time at Orchard Town Center, which is a new outdoor mall that just opened nearby. They have these water fountains that shoot up water and Lucas loves them. Of course he never wants to go through them alone, so he dragged Eric through them too! They had so much fun and within a matter of minutes, Lucas was soaking wet!

like father, like son

Anytime Eric works on the house, Lucas always wants to help and grabs all his tools. On this day, Eric was sanding the cabinets down and Lucas grabbed his little sander to help dad... he needed a work light too so he could see what he was doing!

4th of July

Eric thought this year was THE year to take Lucas to see his first fireworks display. I thought next year would be a better year, but whatever.... :)

So we took the kids up to Vista Ridge in Erie to watch the fireworks. We waited and waited and waited... Lucas kept saying, wanna go home wanna go home. So by 945pm (still no fireworks), we called it a night and started heading back to the car. That's when they decided to start the fireworks. Lucas was scared by all the loud noise, he was screaming and crying all over the place.

And that is how the Rexroths spent their 4th of July! Hope everyone got to see a fabulous fireworks display!

the bay

Last week we took the kids to the Bay. The Bay is water park geared towards toddlers and younger kids. The kids had sooo much fun. The toddler pool was only a foot and a half deep, so they were able to walk in the water. The bigger pool had zero depth entry, Lucas had so much fun splashing around!

Lucas sat with Grandma while we all got ready to head into the water

Diva just stayed in her cover up in the shade! She didn't wanna get her hair wet! LOL

Too much sun for Ave, she fell asleep under the shade of a big tree!

swimming party

We went to a Broncos themed party earlier this month. So the family got decked out in all the Broncos gear we own! Not too shabby, huh?

Avery's first time in the pool was not a very good experience... she didn't like it at all! The pool was heated and everything and she still didn't wanna be in it!

So we put Ave back in her cheerleading outfit and watched Lucas from the sidelines!

Lucas on the other hand, had a great time swimming with dad!
