MERRY CHRISTMAS

This year Santa brought many many gifts!! Eric's parents came out for about a week and a half to celebrate christmas with us! Santa brought Lucas his first real bike and he was soooo excited! He also got plenty of trucks, trains, and planes, with a few cool outfits to wear! Avery got many many girly toys; my little ponies, a lot of pink little people toys, and some very stylish clothes and shoes from Grandma. Here are some of the highlights....

Royal Gorge

On Christmas Eve, we drove down to Canon City (near Colorado Springs) to ride on the Royal Gorge train. It was the first long drive for Avery and only the second for Lucas. Needless to say we've discovered that Avery gets carsick fairly easily! Anyway, we left around 830 and headed south. It was a gorgeous day and no snow in sight!! We got to the train station at about 11am and had just enough time to run some to the store and buy Avery a new outfit since she puked in the car! HAHAHA! We sat in the Vista Dome car and enjoyed some lunch. Lucas was in HEAVEN! He loved every minute of being on the train. It was a great day trip and we all had a really good time! We hope to do it again in the summer time!

decorating cookies

Our neighbor, Teri, invited us over to decorate christmas cookies with her son, Brenden (8 years old). Lucas didn't really understand what we were doing. All he knew was that he was playing with cookies and making a big mess! He seemed to have fun and even got to eat a couple of cookies!

Visit With Santa

We took the kids to visit Santa at Flatirons Mall. I was a little hesitant at first because i wasn't sure how Lucas would react. He was scared of him last year, so i was afraid of a repeat. Luckily, Lucas kinda liked Santa and warmed up to him quickly.
Avery on the other hand, didn't care for Santa very much... I guess you can say she was kinda scared of the big fella! Oh well, there's always next year!

Merry Christmas!

Zoo Lights

This was our first year attending Zoo Lights at the Denver Zoo. We bought are tickets in advance and went opening weekend, which also fell on the same weekend as Eric's birthday. Lucky for us the weather was warm (for winter)! We definitely went prepared just in case. Both kids were bundled like crazy and we brought a couple of blankets to keep us warm! It was so much fun, Lucas enjoyed all the lights and Avery just oohed and aahed at everything!

Snowplay

It's been snowing a bit out here and Lucas LOVES to play in it! Everyday he tells me he wants to play outside and if it's warm enough, I'll let him go outside with Wrecks. He has such a great time and always asks for hot chocolate when he comes inside!
